Severely disappointed. Not in the game, the game is amazing. I'm disappointed in Koei. They were capable of making games THIS fun and just didn't for so long?! If the new Atelier game is any good, this will be the year of the Koei Sweep.
It's actually fun. It's engaging. Build on this. Cherish this. Bring us an empires that doesn't suck and we might see KOEI make a game i can recommend again.
I want to give this game a 10/10 - But can't for one reason. Dynasty Warriors Origins played like I felt the original games played, back on Playstation 2. The combat was fun, and the story has more depth than the originals and it was an unexpected hit of nostalgia right at the start of 2025, from a simpler time. I give this game a solid 9/10 - It has the Nostalgia value and is genuinely a fun game to me. Where'd the 1 go? They removed something important to me. This was the game I played Co-Op with my older brother, taking on Wu and Wei as the sworn brothers of Shu with each release, before going back and trying other characters. They hit every important aspect of a Dynasty game, except that one. Splitscreen Local Co-Op or Online would have made this game a perfect 10/10 to me.
