I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. The Action, Adventure, Cozy mix is what kept me playing; Drive Beyond Horizons knows what it wants to be. On paper it is Explore, survive, and push the boundaries of the horizon in a vast, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. The UI takes a little getting used to, but everything is where you expect it. I will be back for another run.
A friend recommended it and I owe them one. If Action, Adventure, Cozy is your thing, Drive Beyond Horizons delivers it without much filler. The pitch — Explore, survive, and push the boundaries of the horizon in a vast — is delivered without too much filler. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Worth it, especially on sale.
I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. Drive Beyond Horizons leans hard into Action, Adventure, Cozy, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. On paper it is Explore, survive, and push the boundaries of the horizon in a vast, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. There is more content here than the price suggests. I will be back for another run.
