About DLC Quest

What happens when DLC practices go too far? An indie developer makes a game that mocks the industry and its foibles, that's what! Defeat the bad guy, save the world and get the girl! But first you'll need to find coins to buy DLC to enable animation, sound and even pausing. Thankfully this is just satire and all the DLC is purchased with in-game coins. But consider it a cautionary tale for the future...Key Features:. Two full length campaigns: the original award-winning "DLC Quest", and the brand new "Live Freemium or Die" . Platforming action! Coins to collect, a princess to save, a bad guy (or two) to defeat. You like that stuff, right? . Over 30 different DLC packs, each providing quiet introspection on the state of the gaming industry . Over 20 achievements to earn and make you feel reasonably satisfied with yourself . Online leaderboards. .

IMPORTANT NOTE: You do NOT need to pay real cash to buy any in-game DLC

IMPORTANT NOTE: You do NOT need to pay real cash to buy any in-game DLC. This game is all about ridiculing the bad DLC-hell trend in gaming industry. Everything in game is about DLC. For starters, when you start the game, you will have to "purchase" the DLC to jump, and even the DLC to pause. The plot is simple, kill a boss, save a girl. You do so by jumping platforms to platforms collecting coins, and spend them to purchase DLCs that unlock extra quest or items to proceed the game. The graphics and musics are simple, cute and colorful. The stages are easy, but some coins and DLC packages are well hidden, you might need to spend some time finding them. For achievement hunters, all the achievements are easily obtainable. Except the 2 speed runs that requires a lot of practise (or just save-hack it). A very short game featuring a very small world. You could finish this game within an hour. It was fun while it lasted. :D I wish this game release more campaigns as DLCs. My score: 10/10 (Buy it on sale!)

Better than expected

DLC Quest is an amusing game that rightly pokes fun at the gaming industry while at the same time being a genuinely fun platformer. The game is divided into two parts. First part is easy and won't really challenge too much, except maybe finding all the hidden items. The second part has a moderate challenge that adds wall-jumping (which Player must earn by getting the DLC), spikes and a hilarious ending. It's great to play a game that makes you laugh most of the way through. Also, for 100% achievement hunters, this game's list of achievements is short and reasonable. Perhaps not worth full price since the playing time is about 3 hours, but recommended whenever on sale. EDIT: changed "The game is broken" to "The game is divided" ...

Believe it or not, I liked this game

Believe it or not, I liked this game. Not really for its gameplay (all you have to do is go back and forth, find items, etc) but the humor, god, the humor is brilliant and it pretty much sums up the videogame industry. One you've beaten the game and got all the achievements, you probably won't play it again though. I played it like it's meant to be: a small funny game. Plug your gamepad (if you have one) and plug your PC to your flat screen (if you have one), then just relax and laugh.
