I wanted to love this, but it never quite got its hooks into me
I wanted to love this, but it never quite got its hooks into me. The Action, RPG, Multiplayer side of DARK SOULS™ II: Scholar of the First Sin is fine on paper, but the execution felt thin after the first few hours. What it promises (DARK SOULS™ II: Scholar of the First Sin brings the franchise’s renowned) is more interesting than what it actually does moment to moment. It asks for a lot of grinding before the interesting parts show up. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Try before you buy.

A friend recommended it and I owe them one. If Action, RPG, Multiplayer is your thing, DARK SOULS™ II: Scholar of the First Sin delivers it without much filler. It helps that the premise (DARK SOULS™ II: Scholar of the First Sin brings the franchise’s renowned) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. Easy recommend at full price.
