This is a fun game

This is a fun game. But be aware that this is NOT a "hacking sim". This is more like a hacking themed point and click detective game. It is VERY linear and often un-intuitive. You might have the right idea of what to do, but the game won't let you do it if you're not at the right part of the narrative progression. Even though at some point you need to do exactly what you already tried. For example, you do a certain internet search and you get a "page not found". But then later, you do the exact same search in order to progress the game. Also, this must have been made by non-native English speakers. Some really WILD vocabulary errors. Referring to hotel guests as "passengers", and a lot of cringeworthy grammar mistakes.

Great ideas, rough execution

"Cyber Manhunt" is a visual novel disguised as a detective game: it has a few timed puzzles and optional information, but in general the game is linear. The story is far from perfect: it is too dark and not depressing enough at the same time to be realistic. The ending chapter is just meh. The gameplay has a few shortcomings: the in-game desktop is not responsive enough, the data gathering process is tedious, and the puzzles can be bothersome given the running timer. The stylization is fine, I guess, until it comes to anything computer-related (Of course, it is of little importance, but now I know that viruses are always written in C and bash while any database with private data utilizes systemd. Wait. What?) The English translation is sub-par and has lots of typos. It is a bit sad, because I see the potential in this game, but I cannot recommend it.
