About Crow Country

A survival horror game, where you’ll test yourself against puzzles and riddles as you investigate the eerie tranquility of the abandoned theme park. Don’t be deceived by the whimsical surroundings, something is awfully wrong in Crow Country. As you unlock new areas, backtrack and discover more, you gradually piece together why Edward really shut down his park and where he mysteriously disappeared to. You’ve heard some pretty disturbing rumors, but they couldn’t possibly be true…..right? For visitors to the park who are more interested in spotting crows and taking in the sights, Exploration Mode allows you to journey on without the fear of being attacked by the mysterious monsters roaming Crow Country. If you knew what those monsters really are….. Just how far would someone go to follow their ambition? Are some sins too wicked for redemption? A tale of reckless hubris and human greed, and now at the center of it all... you. Who are you really, Mara Forest?

Exactly what I hoped for

Not to be overly reductive in my description, but this is a good baby's first Silent Hill, minus the "deep" plot. The puzzles make sense, there's a generous hint system and the item drops seem to be dynamic, meaning you're always finding the ammo that you're lacking. It's also not that hard to dodge the enemies altogether. The controls are also a nice departure from the regular survival horrors - you _can_ use tank controls, but there's also a modern control scheme with relative movement and rotating camera. Notice how I'm only describing the technical parts. It's a competent nice little game, I don't really have bad things to say. My only gripe with it is that it doesn't seem to want to say anything of import - it's not the aforementioned Silent Hill, nor is it Signalis or Homebody. This is a survival horror set in a theme park which feels like a theme park version of survival horrors. For that reason I likely won't be replaying it, though I enjoyed my time with it (and really looking forward to seeing what other experiments the developers will do - I also love their other games)

runs flawlessly on the steam deck

runs flawlessly on the steam deck I beat the game in 5.3 hours in my first casual playthrough. It's a fantastic game and one of the best survival horror games ive played in some time. I did not get every secret and ending up with a B+ rank. I was able to get some cool unlocks that allow for replay-ability which im excited to do. Very happy to have bought this day one and i really hope there is a sequel
