Advancing the tech tree requires resources that are only present in special locations. Purchase the resources in the marketplace for a high price, or find those locations using the astrolabe and build your own outposts on mountaintops, in swamps and other places. It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. Colony Survival wears its Action, Adventure, Strategy influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. On paper it is Colony Survival is a unique first-person strategy game developed by a two-man, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. The UI takes a little getting used to, but everything is where you expect it. Easy recommend at full price.
