It took an hour to click, and then I could not put it down. The Action, Sim, Multiplayer mix is what kept me playing; Buckshot Roulette knows what it wants to be. On paper it is Play Russian roulette with a 12-gauge shotgun. Four enter. One leaves. Roll the, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.

I went in with modest expectations and came out genuinely impressed. Buckshot Roulette leans hard into Action, Sim, Multiplayer, and that is exactly the part that worked for me. It helps that the premise (Play Russian roulette with a 12-gauge shotgun. Four enter. One leaves. Roll the) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting in the quieter sections. I will be back for another run.
