Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. Players step into the boots of the most iconic denizen of Rapture, the Big Daddy, as they travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and their own survival. Multiplayer in BioShock 2 will provide a rich prequel experience that expands the origins of the BioShock fiction. Set during the fall of Rapture, players assume the role of a Plasmid test subject for Sinclair Solutions, a premier provider of Plasmids and Tonics in the underwater city of Rapture that was first explored in the original BioShock. Players will need to use all the elements of the BioShock toolset to survive, as the full depth of the BioShock experience is refined and transformed into a unique multiplayer experience that can only be found in Rapture.Updated . One of my best buys this year
i had so much fun playing this game as it's the only bioshock game you can play from a big daddy pov, in my opinion it's very underrated, The story is very great plus The Minerva Den dlc is cool and got a cool story. overall it's a Great game

2026: This game is genuinely completely unplayable on win11 despite applying all dozens of "fixes" online. Play the remastered version. The crashes are still there but manageable (every hour instead of every 30s). No amount of Steam settings fiddling, Bioshock2SP.ini tinkering and win11 System Display meddling mitigated the crashing. Only by stripping the Bioshock.exe with Steamless.exe, then repatching the steamless .exe with 4gb_patch.exe and launching the newly packaged .exe directly from the Binary folder solved the constant crashes. Achievements will still tick on Steam, just not popping ingame. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Windows! I can't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ click through the long ass ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ path to the exe directory over and over again! Where TF is the recent FOLDER! Not just files! WTF is this primitive piece of ♥♥♥♥ Win11!? The irrelevant "Quick Access" keeps growing on remove and none of them is the my recent directory! Who designed this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbage file mangement!? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Microsoft should have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ died 20 years ago!

Generally a refinement of the first game in nearly every way, personally. While the story choices are not in the kind of depth as later games like Prey or Dishonored (at least Prey definitely came later), it at least had a little *more* going on than the first. I liked the games arsenal, though I did opt to take the passive that restricts you to your drill and a few utility options. It's a fun challenge and there is a satisfying feedback to hitting someone with a conical heymaker. Though, I must ask; Why did we leave out some major story beats behind the progression in the multiplayer mode? I only recently found out about them in the past year, and it's been over a decade-and-a-half since its release.
