EARLY ACCESS 0.9. . . About the Game. EARLY ACCESS 0.9. Assetto Corsa EVO 0.9 focuses on competition. Special Events introduce worldwide online leaderboards across hotlap and hotstint formats, mandatory pitstop requirements restore tactical depth to online racing, and a new tyre model for racing slicks raises handling fidelity across GT racing cars from Mazda MX5 Cup to Ferrari F40. Alongside these, 0.9 delivers a broad force feedback reliability pass, continued renderer optimisation, and three new cars.. This release provides many reasons to come back in game after summer time: a global leaderboard to climb, a race strategy to plan, and a car that behaves more faithfully underneath you.. . There is a good game buried in here somewhere. Fans of Racing, Sim, Sports will recognise the pieces, though Assetto Corsa EVO never quite assembles them. What it promises (Assetto Corsa EVO redefines the realism and features of one of the most popular) is more interesting than what it actually does moment to moment. Performance was acceptable, though the loop repeats itself well before the credits. It runs well on a mid-range rig, though the later areas get busy. Try before you buy.
This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. The Racing, Sim, Sports mix is what kept me playing; Assetto Corsa EVO knows what it wants to be. It helps that the premise (Assetto Corsa EVO redefines the realism and features of one of the most popular) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. Pacing is generous, checkpoints are fair, and the whole thing respects your time. The UI takes a little getting used to, but everything is where you expect it. Easy recommend at full price.
