This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. If Adventure, Sim, Strategy is your thing, ASKA delivers it without much filler. On paper it is A new Viking age dawns with you at its helm. Forge a thriving colony from, and for once the game mostly lives up to that. Short sessions work fine here; I rarely lost progress to a bad checkpoint. There is more content here than the price suggests. If you are on the fence, give it a shot.
A friend recommended it and I owe them one. ASKA wears its Adventure, Sim, Strategy influences on its sleeve, and it mostly works. It helps that the premise (A new Viking age dawns with you at its helm. Forge a thriving colony from) actually shows up in the moment-to-moment play. It never wastes your time with filler encounters. Performance was solid on my machine, no crashes across a full playthrough. I will be back for another run.
This one kept creeping back into my thoughts during the workday. The Adventure, Sim, Strategy mix is what kept me playing; ASKA knows what it wants to be. The pitch — A new Viking age dawns with you at its helm. Forge a thriving colony from — is delivered without too much filler. The difficulty curve is gentle at first and then asks more of you, which felt right. The UI takes a little getting used to, but everything is where you expect it. Easy recommend at full price.
