Experience distinctly new and thrilling first person gameplay as you survive, hunt and prey in the deadly jungles and swamps surrounding the damned colony of Freya's Prospect. As the Marine, you'll experience a claustrophobic and terrifying experience where light is your friend, but there's never enough. However, the United States Marine Corps are humanity's last line of defense, and as such they are armed to the teeth with the very latest in high explosive and automatic weaponry. . As the Predator, you will stalk from the shadows and from above, passing athletically through the treetops to ambush your victims. Although equipped with an array of powerful, exotic weapons and tracking equipment, honor ultimately dictates that you must get in close and take your trophies face to face. . As the most deadly species in the universe, the Alien offers you the chance to play as the very stuff of nightmares - the monster in the dark swarming forward with countless others, jaws
Loved this back in the day but instead of the standard music I had Mezzanine from Massive attack in the CD drive so any time music was needed that is what played - really suited the game.
For a 2010 game, the graphics are okay. Sure, they feel outdated, but not in a way that disturbs the experience. Music is okay, and sound effects are quite good and reflect the different protagonists well. It’s the gameplay where we start running into issues. 2010 is the same year that we got BioShock 2 and Metro 2033. Alien vs Predator feels like a step back. For example, there is no crouch ability, and the Alien needs a button press to move between planes (for example, from the floor to the wall), which makes movement very clunky. I did not try the multi-player maps, but I understand that the awkward movement take allot out of the experience. Overall, this is a short game, with the three campaigns. A nice retro worth visiting, but nothing more.
Definitely worth it if you can grab it on sale. The predator campaign is the weak link by far but the other two are peak. So much better than colonial marines, it's not even funny.
